Are you passionate about cooking and eating healthy plant based whole foods? Can you see yourself sharing your knowledge and skill with others? If so, then we may have an exciting opportunity for you. The Optimum Health Program at Bookbyte has been running for over 5 years with an emphasis on Healthy Eating and Exercise. We maintain an in-house cafe where our staff can relax and eat. We are currently in a period of expansion and we need a lead cook to not only prepare finely crafted, plant based culinary masterpieces, but to also be a part of the team that is developing, implementing and expanding our Optimum Health Program into something truly unique and inspiring.
Our new Healthy Eating Program will consist of tasty meals prepared with an abundance of highly nutritious vegetables, fruits, beans, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices. We adhere closely to the healthy nutritarian eating style advocated by Dr. Joel Fuhrman in his book ?Eat for Health.? Meals are prepared without animal products (no red meat, fish, dairy, poultry or eggs) or refined sugars or processed foods. Salt and oils are used sparingly. The ideal candidate will have a desire to share the principals of healthy eating through a plant based diet to all members of the Bookbyte community via a brand new kitchen and an abundance of fresh produce grown on our campus in our community garden. This person will also have a strong passion for the philosophies of the life style described above.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
} Living a whole foods / vegan lifestyle for at least the past one to two years
· Culinary experience is desirable, but not required. Training will be provided.
· We will help with relocation cost if you currently live beyond the Pacific Northwest
